What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural mental state that we experience on numerous occasions throughout the day. Have you ever driven perhaps a regular route to work only to get there and not remember the journey, almost as if you had been running on autopilot? I expect you have, this is a form of hypnotic trance. There are many myths and misconceptions about hypnosis, some of the more popular ones are listed in the myths and misconceptions section. Hypnotherapists use hypnosis as a tool to aid relaxation and to help reduce anxiety.

"A client centred approach to the modern day pressures and stresses of everyday life. Empowering clients through hypnosis and psychotherapy to achieve positive change within their lives."

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy involves the application of hypnosis as a tool within a therapeutic setting to bring about positive change within the client. This change will only be effective if it is a change that the client wishes to make. In layman's terms, hypnosis alone can do nothing other than instil a sense of relaxation, but in the hands of a skilled therapist can be used to facilitate positive change within the psyche of the client. There are two main approaches to hypnotherapy both of which seek to work at a subconscious level.
